West Boylston Fall Fest 2025: A Celebration of Community Spirit

This year’s West Boylston Fall Fest was one for the books! As a proud member of the West Boylston Town Celebration Committee, Elisha Lynch was thrilled to help coordinate such a wonderful day for our local community.

With over 1,000 attendees and more than 80 vendors, the event brought the town together for a full day of wholesome family fun. From delicious food trucks to live music, bouncy houses, and incredible crowd-favorite karate demo, giant bubble set, and even a pie-eating contest, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

One of the highlights of the day was the Scarecrows on the Common Contest, proudly sponsored and led by Elisha Lynch. A total of 17 local families and businesses participated in bringing their creative visions to life, lining the Common with festive fall spirit. After three years of reviving this beloved tradition, seeing those 17 scarecrows standing tall felt like such an incredible accomplishment for the community.

With 419 votes cast, we’re excited to congratulate this year’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Read more about the stories behind the inspiration of these thoughtfully crafted Scarecrows:

1st Place: Captain Skelly Boo! Boo! Boo!

"Captain Skelly was once one of the most fierce and magical pirates, along with his three misfit sidekicks! He would sail the seas and entertain all with his miraculous magic tricks until one horrid night when his ship was attacked and he fell in the sea, being attacked by a shark, mid-trick, unable to release his handcuffs in time. While trying to save their captain, the three misfits went down with the ship as well, refusing to leave their captain’s side. Captain Skelly, along with his misfits, now haunt the world, hoping to one day complete their final trick so they can continue on. Realizing how truly faithful his crew was, Captain Skelly and his misfits have now become one as they sail around the afterlife being known as… Captain Skelly Boo! Boo!! Boo!!!" - Murray

2nd Place: Lorelei NaKakika

"Hello, our name is Lorelei NaKakika. We came to be after a storm at sea. I was a mermaid from Germany and NaKakika was an octopus from the Gilbert Islands.  We meet and fell in love instantly.  But our love was to be denied by the society’s around us. So we had no choice but to become one! And as you can see the gods have blessed us with little ones. And next to me you will find Kanoloa NaKakikas father meeting his grandbabies for the first time."

3rd Place: Creepy Cleats, The Shin Collector put together by the West Boylston Youth Soccer Association

Thank everyone who participated by building, decorating, and voting for their favorite scarecrow!

Events like Fall Fest are what make West Boylston such a special place to call home! A wonderful community where neighbors come together, support one another, and celebrate the season with joy. Thank you to everyone who joined in making this year’s event such a success. We can’t wait to see you next year!
